Equestrian Vaulting
Oak Hills Vaulters Summer Showcase
Saturday, September 26th, is the day to see a spectator sport more suited to the circus. The Oak Hills Vaulters are presenting their annual Summer Showcase at their indoor barn in Salem, UT from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
For those who are not familiar with equestrian vaulting, it is a combination of dance and gymnastics performed singly, in doubles or in triples, on the back of a moving horse. The athletes pose, jump, twist and groove in rhythm on a horse to a variety of music while the horse walks, trots or canters in a circle. This fun performance is a joy for all ages. Watching the vaulters perform their routines on the horses is something you won't want to miss. Lovers of dance and lovers of horses will especially be enthralled.
The Summer Showcase is free to the public. Drinks and snacks will be available before the show starts.
Head coach Kylynn Warren has been with the team since she was old enough to walk and has seen it grow from a handful of students to over 45 vaulters.
Vaulting is an international competition sport with only two teams in the state of Utah. The Oak Hills Vaulters have competed in regional and national competitions for over eight years.
The vaulters range in age from three years old to adult.
The barn is located at 1435 E. 900 S. in Salem, UT. (Take Spanish Fork Main St. south, turn east towards Woodland Hills.)
